Patong, area by area
Patong Beach
The 3 km main beach — calmer and better for swimming at the northern end, busier in the centre.
Bangla
The neon heart of the nightlife, off the beach road. Loud and lively at night; quiet by day.
North Patong
The relaxed end — easier swimming, calmer streets, a good base for families and couples.
South Patong
Close to the big mall and ferry-style buzz; convenient, walkable and well-connected.
Patong Hill
The hillsides above town — views, sunsets and a steep but short hop to Karon and Kata.
Kalim
A quieter headland just north, known for sunset seafood and a calmer pace.
Tri-Trang
A small, sheltered cove south of town — barefoot beach bars, away from the crowds.
